I found the reading and articles to be quite interesting and
helpful. It definitely teahces you how to understand html and
the basics of it. I appreciated how accessible it is too.
In Plato's Cave Reflection

It was interesting to read Susan Sontag’s thoughts on the
importance of photography and the rise of imagery as an art.
Given that this was written in the 1970s, I can only imagine
what Sontag’s thoughts would be on photography right now.
One part that stuck with me throughout the reading was,
“Recently, photography has become almost as widely practiced an
amusement as sex and dancing- which means that, like every mass
art form, photography is not practiced by most people as an art.
It is mainly a social rite, a defense against anxiety, and a
tool of power.”
I find this to be true even to this day, photography is something
that everyone experiences even if it isn’t in the form of art as
Sontag said. Now that most people have access to a phone, there
must be hundreds, if not thousands, of images taken every minute.
This is so we can remember things that we have experienced, so
we can have proof that we got to live out one of our dreams,
and just so that we don’t forget about the things we have gone
through. I fall victim to this as I love taking pictures
whenever I’m at an event or if I’m on a trip, I never want to
forget about it and love to talk about the things I’ve gone
through and have pictures to show off.
It is easy to photograph something that is happening in the
moment. There has been a rise of people using images and videos
as a way to have proof of something if something has happened to
them. Some would say this isn’t a good thing while others would
say how capturing a moment, especially one that could
potentially be dangerous, could be lifesaving.
LinkedIn Learning Reflection

Watching the videos on LinkedIn Learning can be really helpful
and have helped me understand how to use Camera Raw and Photoshop
just a bit more. I'm still getting used to how to use it and this
website as it's something I've never done, but I hope that with more
experience I'll get better. I have tried to apply some of these skills
to my photography and photoshoopping.
Graphic Novel Reading Reflection

For this assignment, I decided to read Kadiatu's "The Grieving Mother". From
the title alone I could tell that this was going to be an interesting and
heartbreaking story. It's a story about a mother whose children have passed
and the entire village (including her husband) has looked down on her. She then
gives birth to her eight child and goes through a scary process, having been
told that she can't give birth by herself and spending months in the hospital
and having multiple sugeries done on her. Thankfully, her baby is alright and
she gets to spend her time with them. This story is about how she'd do anything
to protect her children, as any mother would. The use of illustration for this
story was perfectly used, it showed the emotion Kadiatu felt during this time
in her life and gave us an insight on what was happening. It allowed the readers
to feel what the author was feeling and to go through that expereince with the
author.

Reviewing these videos gives me a better understanding on how to make these
animated gifs. Though it's still difficult to understand and even more
difficult to actually practice making these gifs, it does help to have these
resources and to go back and watch them when I need them.
Global South (NFT)

This article talks about a young man's life that was transformed because of am
NFT game. NFT stands for Nonfungible token and has become quite popular this past
year, although I'm sure it's probably been around for quite some time. RK Secretario
was one of many people who suffered finacially when the pandemic happened, living in
the Phillippines where it's hard to get a job didn't make it easier. It all changed
when he started to play the online game Axie Infinity. In this game players could win
tokens and exchange it for actual money. A friend of Secretario reffered him to this game
and since then he hasn't had to worry about getting a job. It is very interesting to see how
an NFT. Something that is digital, can be worth a lot of money and could potentially change
a person's life. I wonder how this type of technology came about and if it will become far more
advanced and take over the world.

Seeing how many chart options were available on Illustrator was very helpful and
good to know incase I ever need to use Illustrator again to create something like
this. I enjoy using the Pie graph's but I do like seeing the other options. It isn't
that difficult to import data into illustrator as well, I like that an excel sheet comes
up when you have to put your data in so it's easy to create the graphs.
"How "Trustless" Is Bitcoin, Really?" Reading Reflection
December 7th, 2022
This reading was definitely an interesting one. It was interesting to read on the beginning of
crpyto-currency and how people predicted it would be, it's also amazing to see how far crypto-currency
has come. In all honesty, I had never really heard of crypto-currency until a few years ago, and since
then it's just gotten even bigger. Bitcoin and crypto-currency itself is probably something that I will never
be able to understand no matter how many times I've taken a look at it, though it does seem like something very
easy to get your hands on and it seems like almost anyone can own Bitcoin. It is also very interesting to see how
there can be real life consequences and criminal activity happening within the crypto-currency "lifestyle", there are
so many ways people can scam and commit fruad due to this, though that can go with a lot of others things as well. I
think that if given the chance, maybe I'd own a small amount of Bitcoin but I wouldn't want to own too much and not know
what to do with it.
